Gopuram
Lamp

The Gopuram Lamp emerged from our long-standing engagement with temple towers that define the urban landscapes of South India. Rising above the everyday, these structures embody a remarkable synthesis of geometry, symbolism and ornament — forms that are at once monumental and intimate in collective memory.

In reinterpreting the gopuram as a domestic object, our intention was not to replicate its architectural detail, but to distill its essence. Figurative ornament gives way to a restrained language of fluted surfaces, where the measured verticality and stepped geometry subtly evoke the elegance of early Art Deco forms. The resulting piece exists somewhere between memory and abstraction, architecture and object.

Crafted in Banswara marble and cast brass, the lamp holds both material truth and tactile warmth. Its illumination is deliberately soft, conceived less as a source of light than as an atmospheric presence within a space. In this way, the Gopuram Lamp carries within it echoes of ritual, place and time.
